Using Keyring With Keys On Big Folder?

Just replaced my Meyerco Tanto folder with a Benchmade 710. I used to keep my keys on a keyring hooked to the hole in the Meyerco's handle with no ill effects (a little heavy in the pocket, but I don't mind). I removed the clip since I just carry it in my pocket. I just got used to having something big to grab when going for my keys. I took the Meyerco off for one day about a month ago and briefly lost my keys on the floor of a fast food joint, so having my keys attached like this keeps it all together without losing anything.

Now that I've got the 710, I'm not sure if a metal circular keyring is the best way to do it since it's a better knife and I don't want to muck it up.

Does anyone else carry their keys on a keyring attached to the folders handle hole and keep it in their pocket? Does anyone have any tips re favorite diameter of keyring to use (or how many to use) or different materials to use if you attach the keys using some other method?

As a last resort, I could carry the 710 alone in my pocket and weight my keyring down or add bulk with something else, but I don't want to add too much additional weight since I need to carry it all in my front left pocket only.

If you actually plan on carrying your 710, it WILL get scratched or mucked up. Toss your keys on it, and enjoy!

Or toss your 710 into a display case, where you can look at it all you want; no fear of mucking it up.

I carry my keys on a small stainless carabiner and have for 25 years, long before every convenience store in American sold cheap aluminum 'biners at the register. It can be clipped to a belt loop or hooked to a pocket, and it stays there.

Anything heavier than that will prematurely wear out the diecast cylinders on steering columns. I don't plan on paying $100's to have them replaced and add another key to the mess because the garage won't get the cylinder keyed the same - unless an additional $50 is paid to the locksmith.

And I'm not handing over my keys to someone who needs the knife. I've had to chase them down too often. So my stuff stays separate, and using my knife is easier, too. No keys in the way.
