Using mindspring news/email from comcast?

This requires a bit of explanation, we have comcast cable internet. My wife used to be able to retrieve news and email from her mindspring account while using the comcast connection.

Recently mindspring set up "filters" to only allow access from mindspring dialup or mindspring dsl, according to customer service. The obvious solution is to use a comcast news server for news, but email is still a problem. And while I use the web interface for email, she refuses. She doesn't want to dialup just to read email. Any suggestions?

Also, this probably moves up the timetable for us to switch all our email boxes, web pages, etc to comcast. ANy hints on the best approach for doing that?

They do that to stop spammers using their system. Just set the mindspring account to forward everything to your new account.

If you want an email account you can access from anywhere you might look into gmail. It's finally out of beta. Go to www.google.com and you'll see it.

I use an email account that will not change next time I change ISP's.
