I'm taking small scraps of Damascus steel and brazing together with bronze, cutting out a blade. Yes this holds up fine in tests as long as no seam crosses the entire width of the blade- making a weak spot. Heat treatment could be a challenge, with low melt point of bronze. Unsure why is working. I use torch to edge harden only. It's touchy. I have used meteorite in the mix as well. I choose wide blade designs. Deep cold cryo treatment helps. One reason to show this is it might give others ideas on what too do with all the odds and ends or nice steel. I've been doing this over a year and made about 2 dozen blades. Skinned a moose with one , did some prying, holding up. Fun to experiment, see where it can go. My finish work could be better- yes. I like a kind of rustic look? Anyhow think this is a great idea to repurpose nice deign scrap!
