The forum kindly has advised me that the Buck 2000 Edge is 26-32 degrees. I am wondering if using the Spyderco Sharpmaker at the 30 degree would work well with the Buck 2000 edge?

On a side note, I would really like to buy a Buck Ecolite 112 or 110 knife. I sold them when I was a dealer, but didn't keep any, so I now wish to buy one.

Blessings from Oklahoma, Bryan

i've never seen a buck factory sharpened that steep. i only have a couple dozen of them or so but none are factory sharpened at 26 to 32 degrees inclusive. closer to 40 to 50 degrees range inclusive.

edit part....

so i was reading the edge 200 thread and i see buck says this, but i'm blown away as none of my edge ever were that steep. maybe the laser calibration tool is out of calibration?:) so yeah if your edge is that close to 30 inclusive than yeah you should be able to use it until it wears away enough steel to have to reprofile steeper than the 30.....or you adjust your angle gripping the knife in relation to the ceramic to compensate. use a sharpie to markt he edge and see where the right angle is by whats worn away off the ceramic. on each pass. i do this often rather than reprofiling as it takes a lot of time on the diamond benchstones i use.

If you will go back just a few threads, you will see under Buck 2000 Edge, that they have changed to the 26-32 degree angle. Bryan

yeah i see it written by buck but it ain't true on any buck i've ever bought yet. now if they are talking the primary grind.....then sure, although i've seen them outside of this range as well........but the microbevel or secondary bevel, which they all have......no way.
