Using silver polish to polish edge?

Quick question, will this work to polish an edge;

? Its the only stuff I found in the cupboard, was thinking of putting it on some leather or on newspaper. On the back it says Tarnish gaurd, silver/gold/aluminium/chrome/electroplate.

It might work but it might not do that good of a job.

Vegetable tanned leather alone will do the job of a strop. Silver polish is more for oxide removal and not true polishing.

Polishing compound green or white does the trick pretty fast. You can find it at wood working shops, or even some mom and pop hardware stores where the buffing wheels are. It will give you a very sharp edge, if your profiles are good to start with...
