Using the 204 on long blades

I was wondering how the 204 does for sharpening long blades (10"+). Anyone use it for this purpose? It would seem that the weight and length of the big knives would cause instability when sharpening. I would like to hear about any experiences in this area.

If the 204 isn't anchored, it would be a little difficult to maintain a consistent angle. Luckily, the base has 4 holes specifically to allow mounting it to, say, a table.

I find it a little slower to sharp a 9" blade than the usual 3-4" most of my folders are, but it does just as good a job.

Hi Mf1. the Sharpmaker is designed for blades under 10". We do make a "Kitchen knife" Sharpener called the "Galley V", but it's set at 30 degree (inclusive) angle only.
