Using the DMT aligner stones on a Lansky clamp?

I've just ordered a DMT Aligner kit, and since it doesn't have a stand, I was wondering if using the Lansky clamp for the guided
rod diamonds stones would have be practical, as I do have a Lansky clamp and stand, and I'm into the idea of not having to hold it in one hand.
Would it be a good idea to do this?

Don't worry about it. The hones don't care what clamp is being used. Just make sure to stick with only one hone type throughout the process (either DMT or Lansky; don't mix 'em). There are some small differences in the height offset from guide rod to the hone, between the two types. Therefore the edge angle produced won't quite be the same, between them. This is also important, if you want to try to keep the same exact edge angle, the next time you sharpen that knife. Stick with only one setup, to avoid or minimize variation in the edge angle.
