Just got one in the mail and really like it. Was wondering how it stands up to abuse in the woods? Batoning? Chopping? Anyone have any thoughts as to what is too much for this blade to take? I have never owned a blade of this caliber before.

Thanks.

Batoning- Does it well, but if you're trying to get through some hard, well seasoned stuff sometimes it just vibrates real bad and refuses to go through or even start

Chopping- Again, does it well. Only problems I've had is hard well seasoned stuff, and as long as you're not going against the grain you'll be okay.

Throwing- Haven't had much luck, shifted my scales a bit :o

Short and sweet, it's a nice light weight chopper good for really soft stuff or green wood. If you're chopping into hickory or oak, and it's well seasoned or knotty, it will vibrate on you and you're hands might start hurting quick.

It's a quick blade though, and it's easy to get some speed with your chops and slices.

Right on, looks like it will do everything I want it to and more. Look forward to using it!

Thanks fellas.

I don't have a rucki but I have a Waki, just about the same amount of blade and more handle (waki)

It batons ok, more length = more vibrations in my experience.

It chops reasonably well, you can get more speed than a 10" chopper

It throws well.
