So i have an edc2 that i use. I just scored a hdfk which will be a user.
I really would like a UF but it probably will never get any real use. Not like a chopper or edc or field knife.
It's nice to have it if i need it one day.
So even though it may see less use is it less important in my armoury?

Until Nathan releases some form and version of the new pattern UF, if anyone who does not yet own one manages to snag one offered on the 2ndary, that YF will most likely be the priciest CPK which that person will own. That said, the UF is not a piece of jewelry and it really land literally ends itself very well to being used for most very normal and usual tasks which would require a knife as a tool. It is far more user friendly than a Shiv which will not be too far behind the UF in term of the 2ndary market prices.

For the sake of full disclosure, my fancy schmancy UF plus all the accessories I have ordered and have on order for it will set me back about 1G which is still less than some Ruski Shiro production folders but not behind too far :D

I would only be looking at a new run rather than secondary prices.
I feel the Use of a UF is to be available to use in case it's ever needed. Unlike a chopper that chops every day.
So am I using it to its full potential without actually using it just by having it ?

The UF is not just a fighting knife! Here is a description from the CPK Homepage
The 6″ Utility Fighter is a high quality combat knife that was developed during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to be a light weight but reliable fixed blade that serves as both a general purpose cutting tool and a weapon.

I had a Utility Fighter that I would carry when I was going somewhere sketchy. I never once pulled it from its sheath. But I carried it many times. Despite having never cut anything was that knife used?

That is the only one capable and utilitarian fixed blade knife which I would to any of the off the beaten path hikes near me, where firearms are NOT allowed. What a sweet and light, yet deadly "weapon" you and yours had created
