Using your Mutt !!!

I'm off on a tough hike tomorrow so decided on an easy forest walk today...

My dog was on Sasquatch lookout again !!!

My pace was slow today just taking in all the sights and sounds,stopping to look at Fungi such as this...

We came across this little cave which with some folage on the front would have made a good overnight bivi...

I even had my legs out for this walk today, don't ask why I'm leaning back....too much beer last night I think !!!!

Anyways we reached a spot where I had previously spotted some Quail and guessed they had a nest somewhere abouts. The brush was so thick that there was no way I would have found it so I called upon my faithful Mutt !
Within minutes she had flushed out the Quail allowing me to pin point the nest.....

We left the area as quickly as possible leaving behind minimal disturbance so that the bird could return !!!
We then returned to the parking lot for a cup of tea....I think my Mutt looks quite pleased with herself !!!

You really have some great scenery up there man! It's dry and HOT hiking around here!
 
When it gets hot my Mutt puts on her Melon hat !!!:eek:

For those wondering, it's a Scrapyard thing !!!!:D
 
What do you do up there, is there a good economy for tradesman, like for instance, a carpenter knife nut....looks to nice there man. Gene

What kind of quail you got? I miss the bob white quail so much I was whistling there call today, but no bites. When I lived in Georgia, all the quail from miles around new me by name and would even come by for a visit ever once and a while.
 
Here I thought you were going to show some pix of using your Dumpster Mutt.

Still great shots. Now break out the Mutt. [I want to know what you think of it as a general purpose camping knife].
 
I'm still waiting for my pants to arrive for my Mutt !
I have given it some testing on my back garden and it passed with flying colours !!!:D :thumbup:

I have had to look this up and I now believe thay are California Quail !!!:thumbup:
