I found a USMC Bolo Machete in my shed. I did research and it comes up to be from WWII. What should I do with it, trade, sell, or keep. Please give me advise on what to do & to make sure this is a good thing. Thank you in advance.

I did an advanced search on eBAY completed auctions and the prices ranged from $50 to $100, with the average being $68.
There were two that were in very good condition with sheaths that went for $118 & $203. I didn't put those in the average as they seemed like out liners that would distort the sample.
Hope this helps.

Can you post up some pictures please? I'm active duty and would love to add to my Marine blade collection. So if you don't want to keep it;).

Very cool find btw, the bolo is a great one

I'll save you the hassle. Send it to me and I'll take good care of it for you for free. :)

The bolo is a lot more usefull than the Collins #18. But the Collins just looks so cool. Does the bolo have any markings on it? I think Bridddell made the bolos and Collins made most of the other machetes.

thanks for looking that up for me, know I have a better idea what to do.

keep it, seems ull get around $70 for it... think about all the history tied to that thing!.. i'd keep it... my dad recently gave me a pre-war Bowie.. no markings or ANYTHING on it i think it was used in WWII.. but having issues finding ANY info on it -.-

I'm thinking about keeping it. Yea it's pretty cool that I just found it, I think it belong to the original home owner. My dad never serived.

Usually the collectible value is in the as is condition. If you refurbish it the collectible value is destroyed, it may be best to keep it at this point depending on what you have done to it.

many knives were made by different makers in ww2, collectors call them theater knives. many are worth what some collector will pay. if randalls or nickols they can be pricey.--dennis
