hello,i am a new member and i have a markings question.this combat knife has a 7 inch long blade thats wide and curved with blood groove.stacked leather 5 groove handle with flat round end cap.blade is 70%black dull finish, end cap has olive paint.left side has U.S. and CAMILLUS below that,no other markings.knife is old,not a repo.what war would this have been issued in?

I dont remember any having an olive painted, or finished end cap. Could someone have altered it? Some early ones were blued, others were parkerized. What does the sheath look like?

The US / Camillus marking was used from Feb. 1974 to 1989. It was the standard marking.

All the best
