USMC Imperial 1943

Does anyone know the history of this knife. On the blade is stamped "USMC (the "C" is backwards) IMPERIAL 1943". Blade length is 6.5", dagger shaped w/ half ground false edge, Leather ring handle. Sheath is leather/metal marked "USMC MILSCO 1943" Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Chris

Your knife is a USM3 (notC) The sheath is a M-6. Depending on the condition a nice collectible military knife.

Thanks, Ken. The 3 was ground in the side, so it looked like a C. Condition is used, leather has shrunk on handle. Really cool looking piece, I will probably make a pattern and grind out a few.
