Hello everybody,
First sorry for my english language!

I have and use for many years 2 Camillus USMC and 1 Camillus pilot survival. I don't like Kabar : bad blade profile to well cut. And I don't like Ontario : my Survival Bowie blade have bent.
To be sure of my Camillus USMC, I've testing one very hard. And I'm very surprised that a such fine blade (1,2 thikness of my Himalayan Imports Chiruwa khukuries) could be so robust and resistant...
But I see that my Camillus USMC tang (same thing with my Camillus USM3) had developed very much rust in contact with the leather of the tang. Same thing with the disk pommel and the guard.

Why Camillus doesn't find any solution with this inconveniant?

Thank you,
Stephen.

Stephen,
No need to apologize, your English is MUCH better than my French!

The model #5684, Marine Fighting/Utility knife is a Mil-spec item, meaning that we have to build it the way the military asks for it. The steel is 1095 carbon and is prone to rusting. We do treat the blade/tang with the parkerizing process[again, mil spec], but it in and of itself will not keep the blade from rusting. You have to keep the blade oiled, or better yet treated with Tuf Cloth.

Either way, that knife will give you many years of good service....Thanks for being a customer!
