I recently told a friend of mine that I could ID a knife for him. He laoned me the knife and it says it is a Robeson Shuredge USN Mk2. I know nothng of this model. Does anyone know anything about this model of knife, and maybe you could tell me what you know, or direct me to a link that can tell me information. Yes, that last sentence was a "run-on" sentence, and my English teacher is gonna have me killed.

Any help with information RE: this knife would be appreciated.

Robeson USA Cutlery made some of the Mk 2 utility fighting knives for the US Navy and the Marines in and after WW2. They have a couple of versions. The first version is only valued at around $100.00 in mint shape, but the second version is worth four or five times that much. The second version is about the most sought after of the USN Mk 2 knives. I am not an expert on these knives and you may want to ask this question on the Bernard Levine forum. You might get more response over there.

By the way, welcome to the forums. I hope you enjoy the time you spend here.

Yes those cookies are my favorite too, hehe. Thank you all vey much, I will try this post under the Levine Forum and see what happens. P.S. The cookie is being sent to 123 Fake Street.

Keith,
The second version is about the most sought after of the USN Mk 2 knives.

You may be thinking about the rare USMC model. Robeson made three versions of the MKII for the navy and an extra special version for the marines (it's marked "Robeson Shuredge" on one side of the tang and "U.S.M.C." on the other. The finish on the USMC version really sets it apart.

I just purchased a Robeson Shuredge USN Mark 2 knife at a estate sale and was wondering what it was worth?
It has " Robeson Shuredge" on one side of the blade, and "USN MARK 2" on the other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried to link to the Levine thread without any luck.I must be doing something wrong?
