Im looking for a picture of a decal from the destroyer. It was a fox holding a torpedo. It was on the ship back in the 50’s. My grandfather was on the ship. I was hoping to make a patch for him as a gift. Can anyone please help with a picture or anything. Thanks. Ive searched everywhere and came up empty.

Battle ships are named after states (Missouri ,Arizona ,And the such ) Destroyers are named after MOH award holders.

Just Google USS Missouri patch and a bunch pop up.

Big head slap to myself. Its Murray not Missouri. Thanks for pointing that out. Maybe my search will yield better results now.

DDE is a Destroyer Escort ,Hope this helped you.
Yes, thank you. Found out it was a destroyer but was converted to an escort destroyer in January 1951.

These memories for him are very important. So i want to make sure I get the right time period. He did serve on the Murray from 1951-1954. So it wasn’t technically a destroyer anymore. The DDE designation is correct.

This is a store on Ebay. Send them the picture that A Arathol posted above and if they don't have one in stock they can make a patch for you. Anyway contact them and see what they can do.

Mods: I hope the reference to Ebay is ok in this case but this would be for a WWII era or Korean War eta Veteran and it would be nice if someone could make him up a patch.
