I just got back form Virginia. My Dad and I (both retired Army) went to see the ship return. Met my daughter as she left the ship. Very glad she is back. What a big can of kick butt that ship is.

I am proud of her and all of those that are serving.... Wonder why?

MS, glad to hear that your daughter is back safe. Tell her welcome back from us.

God bless the warriors.

MS,
Glad to hear the good news. I'm sure it's great to have her back safe and sound. My son is due back in the states soon also. I still won't see him for awhile as Hawaii is his duty station. I envy you the chance to see her come sailing in:D

14 hour drive from Florida.... Some family members came from Japan to see the ship return. I didn't gripe about the drive. There were 70 new fathers aboard when the ship docked. Some 12000 people were scheduled (had passes) to meet the ship at the pier. It WAS crowded.
I think the sailors very much appreciated the welcome home. Much better than what soldiers got when they returned from Vietnam.

Bless them all for they are our shield. Let us all become a part of that shield, to protect those we love, to honor those who have gone before, and to oppose evil where ever it appears in whatever form it takes.
