I recently decided to go for a UT6 since I love DA-OTF's. The furor has subsided with more reasonable prices being the result.
First, I really like the size of this thing and the blade shape. I got it to use and it's a handy size and comes with a nice sharp utility blade. I went for the stonewash finish as having had Sebenzas, I like the finish for a "user".
Second, I must say my example doesn't exhibit much of the dreaded "blade play" that everyone's been complaining about. It DOES however have some play in the firing switch which is bothersome. It'll even rattle a little if shaken. Not a major problem but somewhat disconserting. Seems like they should have used a stronger "anti-rattle" switch spring. I've heard complaints about the sharp ridges on the switch "biting" thumbs but to me it's great because it aids in purchase when firing the knife. I don't care for the long throw of the switch however but I guess it could be construed as a "safety" feature preventing accidental firings when in pocket.
The knife opens and retracts reliably in dozens of firings so far. I hope it stays that way because it is FUN to play with! To me DA-OTF's are the handiest of all knives.
All in all, it's a decent little package but I can't say it's worth the $300+ price tag. With hardly any competition around though, it's the cheapest game in town. I've never understood why more manufacturers haven't produced their own examples years ago. Look how many of these things MT is selling!
