Looked on KnifeRights. Says they passed preemption in 2011 but says concealed carry is a no go.
Can someone please clarify this?
I'm going to visit Arches pretty soon.
Thanks.
Utah is one of few states that doesn't have a specific mention of autos in it's laws. It uses a vague and complex multi-criteria test for if a knife is a "dangerous weapon." However, there is one glaring omission that throws people for a loop: Only certain specific "restricted persons" are prohibited from having dangerous weapons. These people consist of felons, druggies, legally insane etc. If you are normal sane person with no criminal convictions, you effectively can carry any knife with impunity because the law never actually says you can't. You cannot carry on school property though unless the knife reasonable falls outside the criteria of a dangerous weapon.
