This is kinda hard to do, without any pics.
Should have some tonight.
Found a Utica, what appears to be a butterbean, with only one blade. Looks like the pen blade was removed. There is a pin in the opposite bolster, and when closed, there appears to be enough room for a small pen blade. There is only one spring. It's beyond me why anyone would remove that blade, but whatever floats your boat. I really like the knife, after a little Militec, great walk and talk. Barely any wiggle. I found out recently that Utica is still in business, the blade appears to be stainless, or at least a fairly well taken care of carbon steel. Jigged delrin scales, equal end bolsters.
UTICA
UTICA KNIFE CO
UTICA NY
USA
(I think it might have been made in Utica
)
Guy wanted three, I offered him two. Couldn't pass it up.
I also picked up a Colonial Kamp King campers folder, and a recent Imperial stag stockman with a broken tip. Both appeared to be stainless, the Colonial practically fell apart in my hands after I started playing with it. Traded both for some spools of paracord.
Stupid but fun
Also, which is more fun to harvest vegetables in your garden? A Spyderco Native, or a Utica "whatchamacallit". Of course, the slippy
