Utica Cutlery: Any Good?

Thanks for the post. The series looks quite interesting. I hope our members can provide some insight.

I have several of their slipjoints both trappers and stockman models. All them have decent steel, ht, fit and finish.

I'm not a fan of pass-through sharpeners but that doesn't seem like too big of a deal; you can just ignore the thing.

I'd take a chance on it, UTICA has been around for 100 years or so I believe and the price seems decent for this.

Bump on this thread. I was eying these. Are they quality? Are they esee rip offs?

The Utica Knife Co. has been around since 1910 long before anyone ever heard of ESEE.

I have several of their silpjoints which are on par with the American made Schrades of times past. All of the slipjoints that I own were made in the USA. The quality seems to be the same from the ones I bought 35-40 years ago to the more recent ones within the last 5-10 years.

If I was looking for that style of knife today, I wouldn't hesitate to by one of Utica's in a heartbeat.
