Utility blade with cherry.

Still some finish work needed on this but I couldn't resist posting. This is a utility all purpose blade. 1/8 inch 1080 hand sanded to 800 grit. Cherry scales with some beautiful grain. I'm pretty proud of this one.

Looks like a dandy of a slicer to me. I generally prefer knives with fewer pins in the handle, but I do like that mosaic; and you're right, those scales are sharp lookin!
 
I like it. I might have had the pins (or the center of the double pins) in a line, but that is just my personal aesthetic.

Can't tell you what part the cherry came from. My dad used to do woodworking and cut this about 10 years ago. I plan on sealing it with linseed oil. Thanks for the compliments.
 
Come on, who laughed? I did. Guess I'll never be mature. Oh well, the crotch wood is beautiful to look at. Even better in your hand. The way the light hits......lovely.
