Hi guys,
I just finished this one.
Is from my utility line, in ladder damascus (1070+15n20).
Ironwood scales, screwed to the tang, bolts covered with "incienso" wood botons.

Hope you like it

Very nice even though I prefer a guard of some sort.
Nicely executed ladder pattern.
The wood bolt covers supply a welcome departure from the norm.:thumbup:

Thanks guys.

Kevin, I'm also a guard fan, and this one has something that will work as such. The back part of the ricasso is rounded and even though is not that big it will prevent your finger from slipping into the cutting edge, at least that is the idea of it.

That is a beautiful knife!

And very nice pictures.

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks Jos, I very happy about the pictures too, I used a diferent lens and will use it from now on.

Thanks Virginian ;)

That's a great piece. I really like the handle contours--gracefully simple and very comfortable looking. Checked out the listing on this one in the Knifemaker's Exchange, and the blade profile, size and blade-to-handle ratios are spot on. I also like the phosphatized blade etch for durability--a beautiful and very useful package.

Nice one, Manuel!

Oh--and I didn't see a photo of the other side of the handle?

Thanks guys. I much appreciated your comments.

Will, I was hoping you'd approve this one, design is roughly inspired in your "perfect hunter", blade size and geometry mostly.
I usually take pictures of one side because I make very symmetric handles, but I will try to take some extra pictures and upload them.
BTW I'm not very far from making my more accurate "Will York's perfect hunter".

I like it a lot. And I understand about the handle being symmetrical, just was curious about what the other ironwood slab looks like.

Now THAT'S inspiring. :D

That's a fine piece of work, Manuel--congratulations. And I like the way the light color in the forward part of the ironwood on both sides almost gives the look of a bolster there--very attractive wood and well matched. Thank you for those extra photos. Always love to see makers round the top of the spine for comfort--a very thoughtful, practical touch.
