Anyone care to offer an educated guess as to the Rockwell of disposable utility knife blades.

Are "brand name" blades a better quality? Any opinions as to "best" brand?

I use the Personna blades. Everything else sucks if you do construction for a living. I don't know the hardness of them though. I can tell you out of the ones available at home depot or lowes Personna>Irwin>Stanley.

Edit: I was thinking of carpet blades. Lenox before all the others for utility razor blades.

Irwin makes a bimetal blade that, for me, lasts about 3X as long as a regular blade.

I like the Irwin bimetal blades. I keep a large assortment in my tool box. When you need to use them, a regular knife is not a good substitute unless you simply don't care about it.

Like the last 2 posts. I'd have to go w/ the Irwin bimetal blades. Use to use a razor utility everyday @ wrk & the Irwin seemed to last the longest & are less likely to break on the tuff jobs

I believe so, you just need to look at Lowes. I use the serrated ones a lot for carpet.
