I'm getting interested in a good hawk. I've been looking at the various offerings folks have and I really like what I see in ATC. I know for my purposes I would probably be better served by a good hatchet, but I'm drawn to the hawk.
I would mostly be using it as chopper rather than as a weapon. How well would the Ranger fit that bill? I like the spike, but can it be had with a flattened area for hammering instead? If so what would it cost? Do you have models that would be better suited?
Did I mention I REALLY like what I've seen of ATC hawks?!?

Hi Bob!
If you're searching for a good Hawk then ATC is THE place! :D
I personnaly own a Vietnam Tactical and plan to order a Brend hatchet.
I like my Vietnam tactical because it can be used to almost everything from choping to CQB without I have to wonder of having a reserv Handle in my backpack! But if your choice is to have a "nice" hawk that you can show as object and use it for throwing and hatchet work, the Roger Ranger is THE hawk...No doubt! I got one in hand,it's perfectly balanced, VERY sharp and have much more soul than any other hatchet! Buy one, you'll never regret...:D

Hi Mark!
great to see you around here!!!:D
yeah...I almost sleep with my VT beside my bed! and just ordered a Brend hatchet to test it on my next deploy!;)

The ATC original "Spike" Ranger Hawk is a fantastic value for the money!!!

It thrives on abuse!!!!!;)
