utility with ´curly´ hamon

hi all,

this user was built on order.

I should clean up my forge again:
seems, the blade cought an infection during the quench... ;)
but that sickness has an interesting look- :D

some specs:
W1 forged
bronze-guard
masur-birch crosscut
23,5cm, lade only: 12cm
3,6-1,5mm thick
sheath lefthand

Lovely.... spectacular piece of wood..and I love that organic guard. Do you do your own casting?

I wished I could cast these things...
but I have to ´carve´ them out of a big block of bronce.

Well you should try out the Delft clay that I've been playing with. But.. You need to melt it first! I'm still working on that myself.

Very nice work....
 
That sculpted guard in between the relatively simple handle and blade just works out well. :)
 
VERY distinctive in a style of your own Gerhard.

You make some FINE knives!
