Hi, folks!
I am pretty new on this forom.

I want to show you a traditional folding knife from Central Asia - Uighur's knife

The Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group living in Eastern and Central Asia. Today, Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China. (Wikipedia)

That's an interesting-looking knife. Thanks for posting the pics, and welcome to Traditionals:thumbup:

Nice< I like the colors. That would definitely be my poker night knife :) Has a great look to it. What does the stamp on the blade say?

That is a great knife. I don't know how good the blade steel is, but the craftsmanship is wonderful. I have no doubt of the usefulness of it. It's pretty ornate, so must have belonged to one of high esteem as opposed to an ordinary individual. Thanks for posting it and welcome to Traditionals.

what struck me is, the similarity to a sodbuster pattern. granted this guy has a bit of a clip point and fancy bottom portion of the handle
but otherwise looks alot like a german sodbuster

I wonder what its dimensions are...

I always enjoy seeing knives from different parts of the world. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful knife.
Welcome to the Traditional forum.

Welcome rusak,interesting knife

i know it's apples and oranges, but there is something of French Kate in this knife (long legged with ethnic shoes) :) ?

My Arabic isn't what it used to be, might be one of the different languages with the same alphabet? What a great looking knife though, that is a beauty. The history of the Uyghur people is very interesting as well.

Welcome Rusak!
And thanks for the interesting contribution.
Very nice looking knife!

Great to have you on board the traditional forum.
