I own the TAC1 folder I bought off ebay a sevaeral months ago. American made, 154CM liner lock folder. A very very nice knife I bought for less than 40 bucks nib off ebay. Haven't carried it much though just cause I carry EKI's as an edc for the most part.

Now today I am on the throne and looking at Blade mag., can't remember the month and I happen to look at the ad for the TOPS 304 gentlemans tactical. Guess what, one in the same folder. The TOPS version has a couple of more cutouts on the g10 grips and frame to reduce wieght for carry I think. Don't know whether that is necessary or not as it ain't a heavy folder to begin with.

I guess I am just kind of shocked that one copies the other to a "T". Well not shocked just surprised really. This is a Kit Rae design as is my understanding from an article in one of the knife rags I was looking at in B&N with son one day. Anyone know any thing about the knife and design etc.? thanks and keepem sharp

The TOPS 304 is a Fred Carter design, not mine. It was made by Arrowhead Manufacturing in Tennessee, the factory owned by the old owner of United Cutlery, which went bankrupt when UC did. Not sure who is making it for TOPS now.
