V-10 Steel

It has a good combination of wear resistance, toughness and takes a fine edge. Some of the Talmadge info is obsolete.There are newer steels .www.agrussell.com has a listing of steels including some of the newer ones.

It is definitely one of my preferred steels. I find it holds an edge longer than ATS 34 and it slightly easier to sharpen + it is stainless.

Are you thinking of purchasing a knife that is made from VG10?
