Anyone else picked up one of the V&D folders? I've had mine for a few days now. Originally I just wanted a knife with a 3" or less blade to comply with local code. I use a knife pretty much every day for random tasks. I wasn't familiar with Aus 10A, but have found it to be very compliant & easy to touch up. I'm as happy as a bug in a rug that I've found this new edc knife for myself. :)

My son found Matt Discins(Sp?)backpack that was full of these folders and a REAL nice photo album with Matt's work at Blade show.. We KNEW he would want them back and not knowing who he was, we asked around.. We finally found someone that knew him, and we gave the bag back.. As a reward Matt gave us a couple of these DA folders. My son Trace carries one quite a bit, and loves the action.. He rotates it with a Kerhsaw/Onion Ken O gave him, and a Buck/Strider Mick gave him..
Matt said he was gonna hook me up with some mosaic damascus too, but the folders were more than enough of a reward..:D Not like we even expected a reward at all.. Just doing whats right.
I dug it myself, very cool action.. If you DIDNT know it was an Auto you wouldnt figure it out anytime soon..;)

sounds interesting - got a pic or a link?

edited to add: thanks SP. that does look mighty cool! But I doubt my local shops will have one for me to check out, alas.

I just got my manual V&D. I have handled both models, but where i live the laws do not permit the D/A version. Initial impressions are very favorable. Lock up is tight, yet the V&D is not hard to open. Fit is very good and the edge is what I would describe as "Aggresively Sharp". I could cleanly shave hair off of my arm in both directions. I haven't used a knife with a AUS-10 blade before but looking at its specs with .95 to 1.10 carbon, 13-14.50 chromium, .50 manganese, .10-.31 molybdenum, .49 nickel, .04 phosphorous, 1.00 silicon, .03 sulphur and .10-.27 vanadium and a Rc of 59-60 it should be a good performer.

Just talked to a good friend of mine who spent 10 days on an Elk hunt in Colorado. After taking an Elk he used a V&D to bone out the carcass and said the V&D worked just like a scalpel. He did not have to re-sharpen the knife until done and then the blade quickly came back to the keen edge it had when he got it.
