What can I say. I liked the one I built for my sis so much I had to have one of the Japanese White Steel blades for myself. I picked the V grind model.

This one is done with thicker G10 and I made a pocket clip for tip up right hand carry for mine. It is a bit heavier at 3.5 ounces but other than the fact that this one is right handed and the one for my sis was a lefty they are the same specs. Thanks for looking.

I love the concept, but how on earth do you sharpen it?

Its really no harder to sharpen than anything else. Since making it I haven't had to sharpen it yet but I've touched up the old ones. You can sharpen it much the same as you would one of your Bark River knives, IE a 1000 grit emery cloth on an old mouse pad to gently touch up the edge or if you prefer to keep it flatter just do that on a table top. Either way a stropping action straight back will hit the apex at the correct angle once you determine it and you can sharpen that way. You could do the same thing on one of the Spyderco Sharpmaker ceramic sharpeners by laying it flat in the holder and with a stropping action sharpen it using those. Stropping it in between sharpenings with some polish compound works well too.

I was thinking that the bottom part might have been hard to get to for some reason. Either way, your reinterpretation of the kiridashi might be my single favorite knife design now.

Well thanks. Much appreciated. Its nice to know I'm not alone in my taking to this combination of old world with new.
