I saw a nice small, 5" fixed blade manufactured by this company and am probably going to get it. I can't find anything online and was curious if anybody can tell me about this company. I have seen them in Blade magazine, my second Bible, and was curious as to the quality of the knife. I like the way the handle feels and the weight ofthe blade. It appears to be a composite rubber handle and possibly a blade in the area of 440s and a "BOOT" sheath with the clip on the other side, making it legal in California. Thanks.

They are likely comparable to other product coming out of Taiwan which puts them in good company. If you hang out here for awhile you will find it is possible to spend much more on a knife. Where did you see the knife in question?

The knife was at turners. My dad found it online but there wer no specs, the website for Vtech isn't even up and running yet, so they are obviously a new company. I drove all the way from Ontario to Arcadi to get a couple knifes sharpened, that is about a forty minute drive, and saw a beuatiful boot knife that surpassed the Vtech, It was a Western which is a Subdivision of Camillus. The knife is made of a hard stainless Stell, a Rosewood Handle, and a leather friction sheeth. It was only thirty some dollars and definitely a good buy. I will eventually get the Vtech, but for now I will wait. Thank you for any help that will ocme.

Doesnt Vtech make some ripoffs of high end production knives, like some BM's and CRKT's, Spydie's. I thought i saw that somewhere, if the search feture was working for us lowly basic members i would do a search, if you go through the fourums you will find it, i think it was posted 3-4 months ago.

The brand name V-Tech belongs to Moteng, a Southern California wholesale distributor. The knives are made for them in Taiwan. Yes, they have knockoffs of several popular models from Benchmade, Chris Reeve and others. That's why we stopped selling them. Aside from the knockoff issue, the knives appear to be of good value. Your favorite dealer can get them from Moteng for you.
