Va 1 July switchblades are legal. Does that include butterfly knives?

Butterfly knives were already legal prior to the new law. A court case, Thompson v Commonwealth, ruled in 2009 that butterfly knives don't counts as switchblades under VA's criminal code (not applicable to other states). If someone told you otherwise, that person needs to turn in their badge or their license to practice law in VA.
