VA law on blade length

In a thread in the Spyderco sub-forum it has been stated that it is either illegal to carry a folder in VA with a 4" blade or that the maximum length allowed under VA law is 4".

As a VA resident I know of no length restriction and can find nothing in the Code of VA. Except for possibly some local ordinances that I am not aware of I believe that VA has NO law regarding maximum blade length. A search of this forum and google seems to support that.

Anyone have any info to the contrary? TIA

The only limit I am sure of is for school grounds. Can't remember the numbers but basically folders only with a blade not exceeding 3". But take it for what it's worth. I don't get much guff about my Izula but did get a look for a SOG Vision once. I am an agriculture teacher so they are just looked at as tools. I carry a slippie and a locking folder everyday.
