A day without Spydies is like a day without ... WELL, Spydies!!!

OUCH! I hope nobody was seriously hurt.
I have seen that many times but when it happens here in Florida it is not quite so bad since the deer look like dogs with horns.

Thanks!
My son got cut on top of his head. He was sleeping in the car seat in the rear passenger side. He had his head down & face turned. Three stitches.
My wife was ok physically but pretty badly shaken up (of course).
I was driving and took the most damage - all minor. Cuts on right arm, and face. Busted up my mouth some. My wife says she's sure that the elk's face hit me.
Pretty darn lucky all around ... Well the elk got killed! Not so lucky for him.

You know If you really wanted to go elk hunting I would have let you borrow my 308.
You did not have to use your car.

If the Elk had been wearing a seatbelt this tragedy could have been avoided.

John, I am sorry about your car, that is awful, but I am glad that there were only relatively minor injuries.

That was a big one huh? Glad that you are doing ok and that it wasn't any worse than it was. Just goes to show that someone above is looking out for you.

Glad you're all OK, worst I've had was a cock pheasant at about 85 mph, hit the top of the screen smashed it but it didn't come through. I was also full up with my family travelling along the motorway. Funny thing was my 10 year old son said
"Is it dead Dad?"
"I bloody hope so look at the windscreen".
I'll just mention that all or some Swedish cars have to pass an elk impact test at the motor research labs. I know my Volvo 940 estate has passed this test, as have most SAABs. NB, Just in case the more patriotic of you are about to reply I am not knocking your wonderful American automobiles.

All the best,
SD

It is my feeling that if hunters would better spend their time looking along our interstate highways instead of in the undeveloped wooded areas, this sort of thing would not have happened!!!
ROFL!!!

John, it's good to hear that you and your family were not seriously hurt.

The incident supports my belief that on certain products the extra money you pay for quality is worth the price. Fortunately, you were driving a well-made auto; the outcome may have been different if you were driving another type of car.

...And, you know that I was coming to this: That is why I believe in purchasing good quality knives that won't fail me when it is needed.
