So we went up to the Smokeys and spent four days at Abrams Creek Campground. I have been car camping there since 92 and love the spot. It only has about 15 sites next to the river and many trails that start right at the campsite. It was humid as crap but sunny so we were able to do some hiking and rafting during the days. At night it was still humide but pleasant. Last night and early this morning it thunderstormed and rained like crazy. I forgot how loud thunder is at that altitude. It took me a little longer to wake up than the kids(buncha Coors!) but my three year old took care of that. It was "daddy, daddy, I think god is farting!" Man, it rained hard but the tent only leaked in a few spots and it wasn't that much. Anyway, we had a great time. Me, the two eight year olds, and the five year old went hiking twice. The last hike was a mostly vertical 6 miler that had me sweating like crazy but the little troopers kept up. My wife forgot to charge the camera but I was able to get a few good shots with my phone.

KFU in all my sexiness starting out on a hike. This was the beginning but the trails narrow down to single file only and a pic of my arse for Bill, I know he would have wanted one.

Thanks for keeping the forum alive while we were gone. We really appreciate it! I also was happy to hear Gnarly and Baker g2g got their knives and were happy with them.

It was a blast BG! We try to go up in Summer and Fall every year.

Man, great shots . . . . family, knife porn, wild animals, hopefully some rest as well.
How close was the bear when you took the picture??? Last time I was that close, I had a 30-30 in my hands "just in case" . . .
Welcome back buddy, missed 'ya . . . . .
Be safe.

Pretty freaking close! Its cubs were in the tree behind her, didn't want to get too close.
