Valentine's Day W&SS Style!

Hey all. Thought I would post up this Valentine's gift I made for my sweetheart. She's wanted a firesteel of her own for a while and I thought I would base a fire kit around a cool little tin I found. It contains:

18" duct tape (wrapped around waxed cardboard)
Jute twine
Fatwood chunk
Scout firesteel and striker
Mini bic
Strike anywhere matches in CF case w/ranger band
3 PJVB in pill case.
sandpaper striking surface (glued to inside of lid, not shown)

I hope she likes it. I had fun putting it together, seeing what i could fit in and making sure it would be easy to use. Any comments/suggestions welcome.

Cool gift. Very thoughtful. And well in advance too. :D . If she doesn't like it, show her this thread so she can see you were thinking about her days before Valentines day and she'll melt.
 
I kinda think mine would throw it at me when she realised it didn't contain chocolates but cool idea anyway !
 
Coincidentally, I just came from Dollarama and saw some heart-shaped tins, and was thinking about what kind of PSK's they would make. They were larger than yours, though.

If you buff and polish the inside of the lid with toothpaste or equivalent, it would probably work as a signal mirror.

i think its a cool idea. something original for sure. if she is in to the outdoors and camping i am sure she will love it.
