Valet auto-strop

I just found a Valet auto-strop, it went with the Model 'C'.
Does anyone know the razor I'm speaking of? Auto-Strop Saftey Razor Co. New York DM

I had an Autostrop or a couple of weeks, it had a few extra blades, but was missing the strop and honing stone. I ended up trading it for a 50s Rocket Flare Tip. The only thing I know about the AutoStrop I had was it had a 1914 stamp on it

I did a little searching, what I had was a model B1. I even still have the pictures of it in its case

Yep, thats it. The model 'C' was a slight variant from that model. Nice photos, I appreciate the way you pulled out the date. Thanks, DM
 
There are some YouTube videos demonstrating these razors. I find them to be a fascinating design.
 
I was scared to use mine:o it just looked a little gnarly with the twisted teeth and open blade. While I was looking for more info on the model C I found instructions for the model B and found out it was adjustable:eek:
 
I have one that I modified some SE blades to fit. It works okay but until I get a strop, it'll sit on the shelf.
