I like the looks of the Chameleon II but the price tag has me torn. The Chameleon I is $350 and the Chameleon II is $475-650, is the Chameleon II that much better? I've never held either so if someone can give me first hand experience that would be great.

I will be getting a Chameleon 1 today or tomorrow. I would probably pay the extra $125 for the chameleon 2 since it is a micarta handle and seems to have more hand work done than the cast handled chameleon 1. Go and look at butch's web page, there is a link to it in the Automatic forum I believe. He has them for $475, and he told me that he could have one done in 2 weeks. I personally would wait the 2 weeks rather than pay over $600 for one that I have seen on a dealers website. JMHO

Hi James,

I talked with Butch on Monday. He is still about 2 weeks away from finishing the first batch of Chameleon II's. I have ordered one of each. Ill let you know what I think when I get the knives.

I will tell you I think the Chameleon at $350 for a DA Auto is a great deal.

You might want to check the review section as well for some info on this knife.
