I recently picked up one of Rainy's Sidewinders and it is just a sweet knife. Solid build, nice shape, beautiful. But the scale release mechanism is soooooo tight I can barely get it to fire unless I use two hands. and that obviously defeats the purpose.

Anyone know of an easy what to adjust the release. I need to make the scale "slide" easier. I am inclined to send it to Rainy unless that is an easy fix I don't know about

thanks

Any pictures? I had a Sebenza D/A that Butch did for me and it was extrememly tight. The firing mech was a Black Lip Pearl overlay. I loosened the two screws of the scale just enough for me to squeeze a minute amount of CRK grease under the scale and that helped immensely. The bottom screw was there to hold the overlay in place and the top screw went through the Ti to the firing mech so care had to be taken not to disassemble the whole overlay from the knife itself. I did not tighten the screws down as much as they were when I first got the knife so between the slightly looser fit and the grease under the overlay everything was much smoother.

I hope this helps a bit.
