I've got a couple spyderco knives that I'm going to be selling, but I'd like advice on their value - what's fair on both sides. I'm not looking to make a profit, but I also don't want to feed the flippers. All are used, and not in current production, so the big auction site isn't much help....

Please no offers - I'll be posting them in the exchange when they're for sale.

1) Spyderco Lum Chinese – Green aluminum scales. User – wear on the edges of the scales, minor markes on the blade. Well-centered.

2) Spyderco Persistence – Green G10 scales. Used some, but only minor traces of wear.

You said no offers, so since I'm interested in purchasing the Lum I won't put a direct price on it. I can however tell you prices I've seen/paid for Lums in the last few months. On the auction site, I think NIB Lums tend to be offered at ~$180, but stick around for a bit. When they go for auction the prices are variable, but I think they are around $120-$190 depending on condition. In October of last year I won a NIB Lum in titanium for $160 and a NIB Lum in ZDP for $130 (that was a good deal). Since they delete auction listings after a certain time period (really annoying), they won't show up in your searches. I was also offered a used serrated edge Lum in green for $100 around that time (looks like it sold when the price dropped to $80). I think the condition was similar or a little worse than yours. I regret not jumping on that, since supply of Lums is rather limited. Looking on the exchange, I see new ones going for $120-$180, and used ones from $80-$110, roughly.

Obviously you should take my valuations with a grain of salt since I'm interested in purchasing, but hopefully that gives you a better idea of market value. If you do decide to sell, let me know!

I haven't done much research on the other two, so I don't think I'm qualified to give a valuation on them.

Thanks for the feedback. That's generally what I've seen in the couple of sales I found in the exchange.

Not many Stag Kiwis sold - I saw one at $20 that was snapped up almost instantly, which points to being low.

I also don't know how rare the green persistence is. That's one I might wind up keeping, though -it's pretty handy.
