Valuation of a Large Reg

Folks,

To many of the CRK family the Large Reg seems to be the pinnacle of all folding knives and the measuring stick of quality, design, ergonomics, and just plain "love" factor. I am curious to know what the cash value or trade value would be on such a beast. . .

Hypothetitcally speaking, let's say an individual had a Large Reg; S30V, Fresh From Spa, Excellent Condition, Re-Issued Birth Certificate and Box.

What would it's cash value be if it were to be posted on the exchange?

What other CRK's you would be willing to hand over in trade that you feel would be a fair trade? Specifically, would it be equal in trade value for a similar condition Small Reg in BG-42? A small P? A small H? A small Original?

Any input is welcomed.
 
I would say about $400 is fair, perhaps a little more if it's mint, in BG-42 or to cover a spa for eg. As for trades one may have to tilt the trade as not many folks are willing to part with a large Regular these days. :p

I feel the Large Regular Sebenza to be the greatest folding knife ever designed. I know there are others out there that would not agree, but for those of us that have tried most of them, they would agree the Large Regular to be THE folding knife. As for value, $400-$450 is a good price. I have bought Large Regulars under $300 and have spent more than the $450 for them as well. Just depends on wether its plain, UG, CGG, etc.

I have a Large Reg that I have been considering trading out, but am unsure. . . I have recently come to the conclusion that I am much more of a small Seb guy and prefer those over the large models. I would really like to get my hands on a small P or small Original, but those seem to be harder to come by.
 
Well I just paid $500 for a large plain lefty in S30V, fresh from the spa, so that that's what they are worth to me. It has double lugs in silver and a new custom lanyard. I feel like I paid a fair price since lefties are rare, and the silver double lugs and lanyard are nice extras. But then I'm one of those who believes that Regulars are CR's finest achievement. I plan to save it a a back up to a nearly identical one that I carry just about every day. Doesn't seem like they are going to be making any more of them...
 
I would not let the large regular go because one day they're going to be as difficult to find as the small p is today.
 
Evany/Dino/Few... Good advice.

I may be better off just saving and searching for a small P or small Original.

That feels right...
