Spotted this at church yard sale opening tomorrow. No price. Black body, meter in reflex actually works.

Been out of photography so long I can't even guess. Be nice to have if can pick it up without feeling too guilty.

As they said of the missionaries sent to Hawaai, they were sent to do good and they did right well.

So I would not be roundly booed or hissed at here if I offered $40 for it tommorow morning?

That's the bottom line for me. I don't want to feel guilty over it the following morning.

No if it's working that's a fair offer. You might do better, they might get more... it's fair...;)

Will tender that offer.

Still have an oddity, a Rolliflex SL 26. Uses 126 size film. Uses the lenses off the old Twin Lens Reflex 120 film "press" cameras. To me it's a photographer's wife's camera. Or like "Mr. 270" Jack O'Connor's wife's 7x57. I got my money's worth out of that little gem.

The Nikkormat EL must be at least 15 years more modern than the Rollie.

I have an old Mamiya Seikor 5000 that I bought with 3 lenses, a carrying case, huge portable battery and a tripod for $125.00 back in 1980. It still takes good pix.:D
The only downside to it is that the screen is so dark it's extremely hard for me to focus with it.
the nice thing is that it's all manual so you can use you're own settings.
I was once good enough that I could beat the automatic light viewer.
But that was 20 years ago. I haven't taken a picture with it in years.
  :(
I bought my Barbie a Polish Proof point and shoot 35 mm a few years back so I don't need to take my own pix anymore.;)

$40.00 for a working Nikkormat EL! :D
It wont have a warranty but most repairs shouldn't be too bad. If there's a second one, I'll take it!

If there is a second one, you might want to snap it up for parts. I have four FE bodies, and two of them are working. The local Nikon repair outfit said that if one of the two breaks, I better bring the whole lot of them in to be canabalized, since you can't get parts for most of the old mechanical Nikons - at least the FEs. Too bad, because those will run without any batteries at all.

Wife woke me up at 1 PM so I've no idea what happened to it. Yard sale started at 8 AM. The old Rollie still works if they make film for it. Probably ten years since I took a picture anyway.

Still, it's kind of like passing up a good working 4" model 10 S&W for a hundred, and off the records. Almost sinfull not to give it a good home. Sigh.....
