Hi fellow knife enthusiast. I would like to pic your brains if I may. I have an uncle who has a Gerber MK2 PC1 in about 98%condition. I have tried to search for a value for this knife on the net but my Search fu is lacking. So, do any of you guys or gals have any idea what the value of said knife would be. I'm not going to hold you to it, just trying to get him a ballpark estimate.
I have seen MK2s go for anything from $200 to $500 and sometimes even more. It does have the factory leather sheath also in good condition. The serial number is 001171.
Thanks for any info you can supply.

As noted on the photo that is a picture of a P1 not a PC1.
From your serial number and if your knife looks like the photo you've shown it is a P1 (Presentation).
PC1 (President's Type) serial numbers do not go that high.

I've seen a few sale at $200-250.
Just recently a Presidential set (PC) Mark I & II sold for around $400 which is crazy since they were $275-300 when they were made.
The "Cat's Tongue" and "Vietnam" series from 67-68 are usually the most sought after though. $800+ is not uncommon.

Value in the end is always what someone is willing to pay for it. ;)

Thanks for the correction. Like I said, I didn't know much about the knife I was trying to get info through search.
I understand it's worth is based on how much some one is willing to pay, he just wanted an idea of the value.
