My father passed away and left me everything in his house among those things was a knife collection with quite a few random made knives. I'm trying to determine what to keep and what to sell. The biggest and possibly most expensive is a randle made Sasquatch with an ivory handle.

My condolences, sir. I think it would sell for around 2500. Could be 500 less or more. You could look at past sold prices on Arizona Custom Knives, for example. Just type in Sasquatch, and it will show you the results. Somehow when you add Randall, it does not show them so only type in Sasquatch. eBay can also be helpfull. Are you sure it is Ivory and not Resin Ivory? It can almost look identical, including small cracks that the material just like real ivory, can develop over time.

Thanks for the help. I'm not sure if it's real Ivory but it looks real and the tag says Ivory knumbnuts, I wasn't able to find a receipt for it.

You're welcome! Hopefully an ivory expert chimes in. This is resin ivory on a Randall that can look real. Sometimes Randall in the past added AI on the blade which stands for alternative ivory. They only did that during a certain period with a certain artificial ivory material.

It is a special knife made by a special company, sold by a special dealer (Doug Kenefick), and previously owned by a very special person—your father. They even call it a dealer special, and a special song was written about Randall Made Knives. If you do like knives and are in the position to keep it, oil it regularly and love it because there are many great knives but a Randall is something special!!!

Not to derail this thread, but man Guy Clark was something special. I wasn't aware of that song before, thanks Sphinx. I would need to be hard pressed to sell that knife myself, as impractical as it may be for most things. It's a real beauty. Sorry about your dad Gimpy.

Probably a good idea that you find out for sure whether or not it is real ivory. The new rules severely restrict selling, transporting, exporting ivory. (That's why you don't often see an ivory handled knife offered for sale.)
