value of benchmade bali's?

a guy at work has a bm balisong he wants to sell.im pretty sure its not a 42,the pattern of holes on the handle doesnt look right..he wants to sell or trade it (he said he would sell it for 100) and i said i would think about it...
so im wondering if there are any bm's out there that are worth LESS than 100 bucks, as rare as they are.
can anyone help?

I would have to disagree. There are several models of BM Balisongs that are not worth $100. The Zamak (BM) or International Series (PC) are probably not worth it (unless new in box). Condition is a huge factor, you really need to see how much damage there is to it. If it has steel handles then your a lot better off, because generally they are worth a good chunk more. I would try to find some more information on it before you buy it. Maybe try to use some of the resources here to find a #, also find out if it has Sheath, box and papers.

There are a couple sites, one is Clay's site, he has a page which shows different BM models:

It sounds like you are talking about an International Series since you said it's holes are unlike other BM Bali's, International Series balis have slotted holes and not round. The only other BM/PC bali with holes unlike the pattern on 42's is the 129 which just had 14 round holes total (no 2 smaller holes inbetween the larger ones), and that was also an International bali.

yeah,it is a bm, its got the butterfly logo,so im sure of that. the holes on the sides of the handle are slotted,so it sounds like we might have a match. is it worth 100 bucks?

If it's in good shape I, personally would pay a hundred bucks for it. If it's all beat up I wouldn't pay that much though.
I'm a total Benchmade freak so a lot of people might not pay as much as I would.
