value of evolution edition?

I assume you are talking about the Worker Set with two Workers and the cylindrical plexiglass case. I bought mine for $170 which I thought was a good price. Usually I have seen them going for $250 to $400. As always there are some above and below and I have seen one situation where the Damascus blade Worker was separated from it's mate and sold by itself. There have probably been times where these have gone for more.

This is from a knife catalog back in 1994.

Spyderco WORKER EVOLUTION EDITION SET Model #C01COM Prior to this set, Spyderco had never introduced a model specifically for collectors. The two knives in this set represent Spyderco's technological and design achievements over an eleven year time span. The original Worker came out in 1981 and was the first CLIPIT ever made. It has an old style clip which is secured by only two screws. The 1992 Worker has a Damascus blade made by Tim Zowada of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The stainless steel handle is inlaid with Kraton® as is the pocket clip. Both knives are numbered and come with an acrylic display dome. Production of the Evolution Edition sets was limited to 1000 pieces, and, unfortunately, neither of these two models was sold separately. The mold for the original Worker was destroyed after this production run. The suggested retail was $494.95. FYI: Sets numbered 301 thru 700 were priced $45 higher than sets numbered 701 thru 1000.

There is some debate whether 1000 sets were actually made. Hope this helps.
