Is there a value to a set of K-Mart knife displays beyond the value of the knives themselves plus the value of the cases? The knives are in molded spots for each knife. No boxes or sheaths - pretty much what you see.

The only knife displays that I have seen "collectors" pay a premium for were old.

Based on the knives in those displays they don't look old.

Also, if every Kmart had such displays, and lots of people kept them, then that reduces how rare they are, and any collector value.

I would think the value would be greater than the knives + case to a collector. Collectors tend to like sets, completeness, and a way to showcase items. Those tick all the boxes.

As for actual value .... I'm not a collector so no clue. Just a guess on my part.

Not classy to my eye, looks like K-Mart quality.

What is the difference between collecting knives and just "buying" knives?

Those are pretty cool. I don't remember seeing a "Swissbuck" before. Thanks OP!

That there is the perfect Ebay selling item. One sets a low base auction price, and then let the market decide what it's worth 👍
If you decide to sell it, good luck! 🤞😊🤞

like the Wengers:
The OTHER Swiss Army Knife!
How much do you want for them?
(Need close-up pictures of each...)

That type might add $25-100 a piece, it's the shipping that kills the deal on them. The mixed Gerber / Wenger one has the least value, the Schade and Buck will be similar. Also be willing to hold them for a while, they can be very slow movers.

sakwiki has catalogue photographs of SwissBucks from about 1991, so they must have been around at least 31 years ago
