Aloha hogs,

I got this sweet MMD that is a beastly chopper, I chopped through 3/4 inch plywood sheaths, tree limbs, ground up a stump but then I stupidly tried to cut through an old tire and the steel belts chewed up the edge. Nothing that cant be fairly easily fixed but I cant seem to get around to do it myself or to send it in.

I figure the next best thing is to find a good home for it but last time I tried I may have priced it too high, so Im looking to find the sweet spot where its still a good deal for someone.

What would be a fair price for this beast?

Would the same knife in INFI just rolled the edge rather than chipping when chopping steel belts in a tire ?
Looks pretty superficial that could be easily sharpened out.

Yes infi would have rolled. Sr101 takes a sharper cutting edge and both are great choppers but infi is better for abuse such as steel vs steel.

Not bad at all. Normally, when im selling a piece, il list it, then, Drop price until some one nabs it.

Honestly, Sr77 and IINFI are both stinking tough. Trying to chop the steel cables in a tire was going to chew the edge up on either.

Those don't even go through the edge bevel.

The MMD is the thickest knife I own (.270”?) and SR77 is tough, just reprofile the blade with course stones on an EP, strop it up and call it good

I’m going yo have to ask David Brown for a MMD sheath

I searched the sale forum. A new condition. One priced also at $275 sold for $230 three days after your June post. Hope that helps.

This is close to what I paid for mine, it’s a Battle mistress in a tough semi stainless steel with a big Ratmandu handle. It’s an insane value for ~$250-$300

Right...next time, baton through the steel cables to both minimize and localize the damage.
(I know, it's not as much fun at the time...but, then again, how much fun are you having with it now??)

Just sharpen it out. That isn't worthy of sending it to anyone, and selling it because you chipped it is... well, pardon me... but rather foolish. It is still a great blade. You can get a good coarse stone for under $20 I bet. It would cost you more than that to send it to anyone to get it fixed, shipping both ways.
