If I choose to sell this knife what do you guys think is a fair price??

Next saturday there's a knife exhibition here in the Netherlands and I want to bring this one just for show, no intentions to sell. But maybe somebody will ask me for a price. Just curious about your opinions ;)

you did an amazing job with that one!!

id say because the refinish is not factory, a fair price would be 300-350.

I think you'd get 4-450 for it on the exchange here... (if it's still in perfect condition -- but haven't you used it?)

It's not factory, but oh man is it sweet!

I'd go higher -- nothing he did will change that great warranty. Plus, that's one heck of a nice finish.

$400 -- maybe $450. Hell Razors are finally getting respect on the secondary market.

No way.

It's a Mud Razor and the satin job is top notch.

I would be reluctant to let it go for $600.

The only time a quality mod will hurt the value of a Busse is if it is a super rare model, even then it should command almost as much as a safe queen.

Just look at a SHBM. A well done swedge or a satin job doesn't hurt the value at all. If I had a mint safe queen SHBM I wouldn't run out and grind a swedge on it but if I really wanted a swedge I would not hesitate.

I used it a little but decided to totally restore the edge as well as the satin finish. It really looks like a new custom blade again

I could easily see it going for about $500. This is a fantastic finish! How did you achieve this outcome?

I'd say that it would be worth somewhere in the $450-$500 range.

If it was unused and unmodified maybe the mid $500s.

yes, the finish is top notch.

a "fair" price, and top dollar are not the same. someone may be willing to spend 600.00 if it was listed.

a user mud razor probably would be fairly listed at what i suggested. though of course it could potentially sell for more.

ultimately it would depend on what one considers a modification.

a refinish could be a mod, but someone may not consider it so. a swedge is definitely a modification, and some may not mind that particular mod were they in the market for a particular model.

i would pay more for an "unmodded" blade, even a user, because no metal has been removed.

if i had a mud razor, and wanted it refinished as crafft has done, i would probably be willing to spend 100-125 for his work. but i wouldnt expect someone to pay the cost of the knife and the work were i to sell it.

maybe thats just how i see it.

i take nothing away from the time and effort needed to accomplish that finish.

Does this mean you are going to sell me that Ruck for $600 after Ban is done with it?

Removing metal isn't a problem if you remove the right metal!

That Ice Razor was done right. He should get close to the value of the knife and a resonable ammount for the work done.

Then there is the matter of how much it's worth to him. He paid for the mod so he should try to get his money out of it if he's happy with the knife. If he was unhappy and wanted to dump it, that's when he should lower his price, not before.

From what I've seen, I'd probably list between 450 and 550. Of course you may always get more, especially if your in a higher demand area like Europe where online sellers are less likely to ship.

If you have no intentions of selling, then if someone asks, state at least $600. If they want it they will buy it. If not you're back to where you started anyway.
